  I absolutely would not recommend Sunriser Stables for you or your child to take riding lessons or to board a horse. My 15 year old daughter was in lessons here for about 3 years. During that time I bought her a horse from Sunriser Stables and boarded her there. We, unfortunately, found out that the owner and trainer of Sunriser Stables has a side to them that we had not seen. Without giving too much detail, I'll try to explain. My daughter was given the "silent treatment" during one of her lessons. When I picked her up from this lesson she explained how she had been treated by the trainer,"Ms. Ellen" and I was shocked and didn't believe it. I thought there must have been a misunderstanding on my daughter’ part until I received a text from the trainer's mother (co-owner) informing me how angry they both were over something that I and most people would consider extremely petty. Realizing that this issue was obviously very important to them, I responded with as much understanding and compassion as I could in a text as I was hung up on when I called. In short, the next day the trainer, Ellen, and her mother, Leslie, showed up without any forewarning at my house around 9:30PM to hand me a 28 day notice for the removal my daughter's horse from their barn. Needless to say my "mama bear" came out and my daughter's horse was removed within a couple of days to another barn. This was a very sad and disappointing experience for us, especially for my daughter, because she had once looked up to and trusted “Ms. Ellen”. There are a lot of really nice barns for boarding and quality trainers in Pensacola. Sunriser Stables is NOT one of them in my opinion.
